The meeting was called to order by Philippe Cras at 1:08 pm. Philippe led the pledge and Jim led the prayer.
Introduction of members was completed.
The minutes were approved.
Treasurer’s report: Chris reported that the treasurer had a balance of $ $1727.78.
The speaker was Michael DeMasi, Chief of Emergency Management for the US Army Corp of Engineers in Galveston. He spoke on disaster response.
The election was held and Chris, Susan and Millie were reelected to the board.
Philippe acknowledged Service Master as a sponsor for CRTF.
Each board member discussed their area of membership.
Churches (Susan) stated that Holy Comforter’s 1st annual October Fest was a great success. She also stated that the monthly food drive would be held at the Kingwood College Campus on Wednesday, December 7 due to finals, and that there would be no food drive in January 2017.
Civic (Millie) stated that HAAM, The Mission and other agencies are getting ready to distribute Thanksgiving and Christmas food and toys. All of these agencies are accepting donations.
Communications (Leroy) Nothing to report.
Government (Chris) Nothing to report.
Medical (David) stated that the flu season has arrived and the Zika virus is still around.
Schools (Chery) stated that Humble ISD is still working towards preparedness for all schools in the district. Dr. Walker from the Lone Star College System stated that there would be a drill at Kingwood College on November 17, 2016 and that they needed evaluators and/or observers for the drill.
Other (Philippe) stated that CRTF was working with AVFD for a new logo and that CRTF is trying to bring value to the group so training will become very important.
